|What is HAAM or Hitless Automatic Adaptive Modulation ?|
|Answer:HAAM allows for a dynamic change of the modulation level in order to increase the availability of the RF link.|
Adaptive modulation will be used to meet availability targets for high priority traffic while still allowing for maximum throughout during fading periods.
HAM works on the S/N criteria(SNR)
In a typical adaptive modulation scenario the highest modulation is used in non-fading conditions. When fading begins to occur different modulations levels are cycled through. At each modulation level reduction there is a gain in receiver sensitivity which results in an increase in the fade margin.
