What is HAAM or Hitless Automatic Adaptive Modulation ?
Answer:
HAAM allows for a dynamic change of the modulation level in order to increase the availability of the RF link.

Adaptive modulation will be used to meet availability targets for high priority traffic while still allowing for maximum throughout during fading periods.

HAM works on the S/N criteria(SNR)

In a typical adaptive modulation scenario the highest modulation is used in non-fading conditions. When fading begins to occur different modulations levels are cycled through. At each modulation level reduction there is a gain in receiver sensitivity which results in an increase in the fade margin.
