What is ATPC ?
Answer:

ATPC is automated process to control the power at transmitting end with respect to received power at receiving end [to maintain better RSL value]

Automatic Transmit Power Control (ATPC) allows for the transmit power to be dynamically changed in order to keep the receive signal level at a target power. Under normal non-fading conditions the transmit power is reduced and the link operates in its error free state. As fading occurs the power of the transmitter is increased while trying to maintain the receivers target receive signal level.

when fading conditions occur, transmit power will be increased as needed until the maximum ATPC Limit .


ATPC is Very useful to minimize the interference in NW,


ATPC system must be controlled (within applicable fade depth range) by the combined signal or the stronger signal from the two antenna system.

Example :
Max Tx Power of Radio->19
Radio Eqp. Threshold -> -55
RSL=-31
ATPC Value can be set-> 24 (55-31=24)
